This Mustang utilities the Focus RS diecast alloy block 2.3L EcoBoost engine which has been specially modified for RWD application with a modified head gasket and larger 63mm twin-scroll turbo compressor. The torque curve has been broadened with 90% of peak torque delivered from 2,500 rpm up to 5,300rpm. The output of the 2.3L EcoBoost engine has been boosted with an additional 12kW, bringing the power to 236kW at 6,200rpm. Torque is also up 7Nm to 448Nm at 3,800rpm.

The Mustang High Performance 2.3L's appearance has been enhanced to further differentiate it from the GT, yet maintaining its iconic Mustang persona. It has the following exterior changes: Modified grille with offset Tribar Pony badge, Magnetic bonnet spear stripes, Magnetic Grey mirror caps, Magnetic rear lip spoiler, Rear faux gas cap with Tribar Pony badge, New 19� x 9� machined face alloy wheels, Quad Tip Exhaust with Active Valve Performance System
